Painting of a cardinal I did for my painting class. The subject matter was to paint an image that can be used for a postage stamp… meaning almost everything. I went the safe route since everyone likes birds, I think.
This past month I’ve been listening to a lot of Fleet Foxes. It makes me feel like going out and living up in the mountains. A hand-built log cabin with a stone fire place inside to warm up my poorly made soup of collected woodland edibles. Maybe have a few instruments with me. A guitar, banjo, harmonica, washboard? Does that count as an instrument? Just walk around the woods singing jolly tunes. That’d be a more relaxing and simple life.
Maybe this want of escapism stems from the stress of school and realizing that I won’t be able to necessarily do what I want. I’m already in too deep to get out.
Here’s hoping I gain the willpower to finish what I’ve started and make something out of myself with the skills I’ve gained. If not, then I don’t know what I’ll do. I can always be a hobo. It can’t be that bad, right?
